Valve Tags- Plastic or Brass?

Author: Michael  |  Category: printing news

Whether you want to use plastic or brass for your valve tags depends on the exact application that they’ll be used for, the cost, and other factors. Blank brass tags can be marked for permanent identification with a steel stamp and they last a very long time, even in adverse conditions.

It is also possible to get brass tags that are already engraved with the information that you want them to say. This saves the cost of a steel stamp and the work involved, but previously-engraved tags do cost more than the blank ones, so it’s important to check prices, sizes, availability, and other issues.

If brass tags aren’t what you’re looking for, you might try plastic ones instead. They are color-coded and you can have whatever you need printed on them. You can also just write on them yourself, because the surface is smooth. They withstand temperatures well below zero and last a long time.

Another great thing you can do with them is to use them to put adhesive labels on, and then attach them to the valve. They come in more than five different colors and several sizes to fit whatever you need.
